Shopping List
To set up this game you will need grocery lists, a pen, and a piece of paper for each pair that is playing. If you scroll down, we uploaded some example shopping lists that you can use for this game! Split your group up into pairs and have each partner stand on opposite sides of a large space from each other. Designate one person to be the shouter, and the other person to be the scribe.
Give the grocery list to the shouter (don’t let the scribe see it!) and give the pen and paper to the scribe. The scribe’s goal is to recreate their partner’s shopping list on their own paper. If you use the example lists we provided, there is a place to cut each page.
Give the top half to the shouter and the bottom half to the scribe. All the shouter has to do is yell each of the items to their partner one line at a time. The tricky part about this game is that the whole group will be doing this all at the same time. The noise makes it very difficult for the scribe to understand what their partner is shouting. The shouter is allowed to do charades or whatever they’d like, but they have to stay on the opposite side of the space.
When the scribe thinks that they have the list correct, the pair can meet the leader in the middle of the space, where the scribe’s list will be checked. As the leader you can choose to either just let the pair know how many items they have wrong, or you can let the shouter look at the scribe’s list to see exactly where they went wrong. If the list is incorrect, send the partners back to their respective sides to keep trying, but the first duo to get all ten of the items correct wins!
